Ashley Reid, SFU Ambassador for Para-Football

The Scottish Football Union is delighted to announce that Ashley Reid, the CEO of Para-football Scotland, has agreed to act as our Ambassador for Para-football.

Ashley is an engaging, dynamic and results-driven charity leader with a wealth of experience in sport and third sector, specialising in organisational growth and sustainability. Her work is defined by an immense passion for making positive and progressive change that has a lasting impact, particularly in the realm of football and disability inclusion.

Having spent 12 years in public relations before moving into the third sector, she is an advocate for inclusion and diversity and take pride in sharing Scotland's pioneering journey in para-football. Ashley is deeply committed to advancing inclusive football opportunities for all, removing societal barriers to access and championing an equal game for those of all abilities. 

In particular, Ashley excels in strategic planning, networking, and collaboration to drive organisational growth and visibility, and has led several organisations to award-winning status, most recently with Scottish Para-Football receiving UEFA Gold Award for Best Disability Initiative in 2022 and the Football Without Limits Award at the 2023 World Football Summit. In 2017, she founded Amputee Football Association Scotland and continues to run this in a voluntary capacity. 

Her influence across the game is profound. She sits on the Scottish FA Non Professional Game Board; the UEFA Disability Football Working Group; the Scottish Government's Cross Party Group on Disability Football; and Scottish Football Congress. 

In 2024, she was awarded the Inspiration in Sport Award by Scottish Women in Sport and more recently was appointed to the World Amputee Football Federation Women In Sports Committee.
